If you like him, you should also check out Roman Dirge's Lanore, thats pretty entertaining with the same dark/gothic twist.

^^ Point of interest: Ihe first Mortal Kombat movie, several cast members from WMAC masters played charectors from the video game. The Machine had a cameo against Sonya Blade, The Red Dragon, or whatever he was called, played scorpion and there was one other, but I cant remember who it was. Anyway, just thought you guys might be interested in knowing that. =D

I agree with Transtic Nerve. When I entered Junior High, a lot of people changed It's mostly due to the fact that in Elementary school, you are all in the same class, but once you enter a school with a rotating schedule, people meet new people and begin to discover who and what kind of person they are. It's unavoidable.

^^ If you don't know him in person, I don't see why your worried about a relationship. Some people forget that the internet is not real life. You can't "date" people over the internet. If anything, he's just harrasing you. Tell him to stop and move on, there's nothing mean about that.

^^ Yea, I was gonna say, it literally means little. Like "Chibi Usa" from Sailor Moon really means "Little Usagi"

^^ Oh my gawd, no way. I used to watch that show all the time when i was 10!
Originally posted by Queen Asuka *Laughs* I loved Reboot and I must say that that was one of the best moments of the show. It was the last thing I really expected to see, but it was classic.
I remember whe that show came out, way back when I was a little kid and it was on ABC saturday morning cartoons. It was entertaining for an 8 year old. The last season, which took them like 5 or so years to come out with, was very good though. Had me glued to my seat.

I think I read somewhere that it was pretty much the same cast of VA's except for a select few.

What about when American cartoons make direct references to anime? Like in the series finale of Reboot a couple years back. The episode where Mainfraim was crashing, there were several references to anime in it, one being the sprites clad in different colored sailor outfitts hudling around one holding a large glowing crystal and sporting Long blonde pigtails. Whats that remind you of? :D
Originally posted by WW2 How can they make a movie out of DOA? I mean the game doesn't have much of a storyline, at least not enough to be adapted into a movie.
Thats never stopped Hollywood in the past: Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc.

There's a movie from the early 90's called "Dead Alive" and it's a really disgusting and overly graphic Zombie flic. Tottaly B movie. But ironically it's by the guy who directed the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Just thought I'd share that useless trivia sence I was reminded of it just now...

^^ Sounds like a Hitler style brainwashing to me.

Baron Samedi, WA State would be an abreviation for Washington State, as in, America...sorry

I think they suck. What more can I say? I don't think bands who only do things for shock value have any sort of talent at all. Especially when all they "rap" about is sick and disturbing.

I didn't really like the first one all that much but I'm excited to see this one. Still, I was hoping that they were going to start the Venom/Carnage story line. That would have been more fun...

^^ There was a similar story about an old woman that had been reported to the police several times for flying off the road and onto the sidewalk and hitting people. While she didn't kill anyone, she did it 11 times and was still allowed to keep her liscence. I think all people above a certain age should be required to trive a Manual Transmission car, that way it's not just driving itself. And if they aren't able to do it, then end of story. Coincidentally, I hear in Canada that they test their senior citizens every year to make sure. Why is America behind everyone else?!

^^ There's a reason your parents say not to take things from strangers...

Anime What was the first anime that you watched?
SadClown replied to Krillen's topic in Otaku Central
I think mines acctually a little weird. The year was 1990, I was five and I lived on the East Coast. Does anyone remember those kids videos that you could buy and they were really really cheesy and all happy-go-lucky whatever. Well my mom used to buy them for me and she came home with one called "Locke: The Superpower" and is was like my favorite forever. I didn't find out till way later that it was a tittle called Chojin Locke and that it was an edit of the american dub. It was so funny, they edited out EVERY little trace of blood, swearing, nudity and everything from it, but very poorly. Always makes me laugh to watch it. -
^^ I agree. If I wanted to hear good english, I'd listen to American music...

I think I've mentioned a couple times in some of my other posts about a series called Chojin Locke "Locke the Superman" and I was wondering if anyone else has heard of it. It's a very old series that started in the 70's and has carried on untill now, outliving three publishers. The series is one of, if not the, first of the "People with Psychic Powers" genre. The story follows Locke, an ESPer (Es-per), who is forever young and chronicles his life as he interacts with the ever-changing galaxy; fighting wars, partacking in espionage and ultimetely shaping the future with his actions. The series began as a manga by Yuki Hijiri and is has been out of print for some time, save on recent repinting in 2000. From there, it spawned three movies based on Story Arcs from the manga: "Millenium of a Witch" (Mahou no Sekai) was released in 1984 and has been the only thing of Locke to ever be dubbed into English and can be ordered over the internet from most movie websites. I HIGHLY recommend it to those who are fans of 80's all-hand-drawn animation or those who love action/psychic powers/drama. The other two movies, "Lord Lion" and "Eternal Cammando" are not available anywhere. There are also a VERY LIMITED number of webistes available for the series, and none of which are updated at all anymore. Point of Interst: Gokuu definetly got his hair from Locke!!! On a side note, if anyone ever comes across any of the manga, please let me know, I've been looking for volumes 3-4.

I highly recomend this movie. The art is something that has to grow on you though because, at first, I didn't like it, but after seeing it a countess number of times, I can see the great detail in it. Just don't expect bright colors and big eyes like in most anime. I acctually think this movie contains some of the most beautiful animation scenes I have ever seen, especially Motoko's fight in the end, which, btw, I feel that the nudity was pretty tasteful.
