1. I really like the snowflakes, very subtle yet classy. There's two things I want for Christmas. One is some fashionable clothes and two is to give theOtaku.com's visitors some hip new places to visit. -Adam
2. Stereotypes might exist for a reason right now but perpetuating them helps to make them exist in the future. I think that sometimes people subconsciously mold themselves into their stereotypes if they hear them often enough...So I think they're a dangerous thing. (Though I still laugh at the jokes...)
3. I think Akira's a pretty good anime film. Not the best ever (though at one time it probably was). My vote for the best anime movie ever has to go to Spirited Away... -Adam
4. Hold down the CTRL button and then roll your mouse roller either up or down. -Adam
5. Today I finished writing summaries and taking screen captures for the first 100 DragonBall Z episodes. I was just wondering which road I should take now: 1) Keep going with DragonBall Z episodes or... 2) Get more pictures/summaries for DragonBall GT episodes. Which would you rather see on theOtaku.com/dragonball? Let me know, -Adam
6. A huge lack of quality entries made me terminate the contest prematurely. The unofficial winners of it though were Semjaza and Herman. -Adam
7. I would just like to thank James, Shift, and DemonZ for all their ridiculously hard work and dedication in bringing the forums back online. Soon all the bugs will be ironed out, the URLs will be restored, and all will be stable. -Adam
8. When Goku was sent to earth as a baby, does anyone think that he could have conquered the entire planet had he not hit his head? I have my doubts - I think the Saiyans seriously underestimated Earth's warriors. ^_^ -Adam

Double Dragon

It doesn't even come CLOSE to Street Fighter The Movie. -Ad
10. I'm actually going to China as well. I hope I don't stick out too much...
11. That, was brilliant.

Crikey!

I saw the Crocodile Hunter movie and it was pretty all right. CRIKEY! CRIKEY! CRIKEY! I can now appreciate that bloke James and his mother country that much the better. :smooch: -Ad
13.
Originally posted by BabyGirl I'm probably one of the few people in the world who doesn't care all that much about cheating. I think it's completely fine to kiss someone else when you're "with" another person. If I was with a guy that had sex with another woman, as long as he admitted it to me and it never happened again, I could easily forgive. The initial hurt would sting a bit, but then I'd just have to remind myself that they were merely giving in to their animal instincts...those can be rather hard to control at times ;)
The key phrase in that is "and it never happened again" - if someone does cheat on you once, odds are that they'll cheat on you again. Plus, how would you be able to trust them from then on? I'd forgive the person, sure, but I'd consider the relationship over. -Ad
14. I think the mindset of a lot of people in America is the essence of what's wrong. Being a leader is about sacrifice, not self-gain. But in our TV and movies and media the opposite is portrayed. People want to be in power to get the money/girls/boys/etc. rather than to sacrifice themselves to make the world a better place. So we have people growing up, following the wrong ideals, and they come into power and cause these problems. -Ad
15. I need some information for the upcoming v4 DragonBall Z section... If you guys help me out, you'll see your writing on the site ;). Ok... let's start off with this: The two new GameBoy Advance video games. If you have both/either, write an overview and review for each one. Good grammar is a must and make it fairly extensive. I contacted Infogrames to get a free copy of both but they never responded and I don't have the money to buy them. You'll be helping out a ton of people if you invest the time in this. Best, -Adam
16. What great news - congratulations Miss (soon to be Mrs.) Macaiodh. Can't wait for the wedding pictures. -Adam
17. Are there any guys here who spend their money on clothes above games and DVDs? I have to admit that I'm a huge fan of fashion and, as of currently, am spending much more money on clothes than anime :o . Thankfully I haven't run into any problems with this. My girl friends (not girlfriends, I don't have a girlfriend now) are just like, 'woah, you go shopping???' and my guy friends don't really pay attention to clothes. It's all good. Thanks, -Adam
18. I saw the anime movie Ghost in the Shell today. Far and away it is considered one of the best anime films of all time. I, however, came away from it quite disappointed. Has anyone else seen this? Any other opinions? I know Rick Hunter told me that it's importance was just in being a stepping stone for other anime films. -Adam
19. I personally hope that the 'incorrect Western' definition for otaku gets as disseminated as possible ;). But I personally wouldn't want to call myself an 'otaku'. "Hi, my name is Adam, I'm an otaku, nice to meet you." No! It's just as bad as if I had said: "Hi, my name is Adam, I'm a web-master, nice to meet you." Gross. -Adam
20. All of it would go toward college (where it would pay for approximately 1/4 of one year). -Adam

PS2 Only $199!

This is so funny, go to GameStop.com. The price of the Xbox has ALREADY fallen to $199. So funny - It's a perfect case example of an economic price war that massively hurt all the companies involved but hugely affected the consumer. This is massive - I wonder how Nintendo will react. -Adam
22. Sweet! Sony slashed the price of its PS2 by a whopping $100. It now only costs $199. But that's not all... What effect will this have on the Xbox and GameCube? My projections: Xbox Microsoft will simply roll over and die if they keep their console priced $100 more than the PS2. My guess is they will match the PS2's price. That or, less likely, they will reduce to $249.99. GameCube One of the GameCube's biggest advantages is that it was priced $100 below the competition. With this advantage gone, Nintendo will absolutely reduce the console's price (and Nintendo can afford to do this greatly because of its lucrative software profits). My estimate is that the GameCube will move down all the way to $99 or, at absolute worst, $149.99. Sweetness! Thank you Sony! To digress into business speak. The video game industry is a 3-way oligopoly. This means that the price of products changes very slowly but when they do change, when they are changed by even 1 company, the other two must quickly respond lest they get devastated. (Anyone remember when the Saturn was killing the PlayStation in sales and Sony cut its price and Sega obstinately kept their Saturn the same price?) -Adam
23. It's absolutely not feasible for the entire world to use one currency on an economic level. The Federal reserve in the US alone controls recessions and the like by adjusting the supply of money within its borders. If only one currency was used in the entire world, the Fed couldn't do this anymore because the supply of money would extend to every country - if one country affected the supply somehow it would affect, positively or negatively, every other country that uses the same currency. The Euro runs into this problem as well. What if Spain is going through a recession and Germany is booming. What will the central bank do? Will they tighten the money supply or expand it? The Euro however does have some advantages in that it increases mobiity among the european nations (for jobs) and it helps countries that suck at managing economic stuff.
24. No hoax! It was sent via snail mail and came with a big booklet on policy and was addressed from the Washington. -Adam
