1. Man, I wish I knew the diagnosis on my old N64. I got it for one of my birthdays (eight or nine, I don't remember) and I played it a lot over the years. It was always on the floor, though, so people were always stepping on it or something. Eventually, the reset button got stuck, and I don't think it will play anymore. I don't know, though, it's possible! I had a whole legion of games...both Legend of Zeldas, Star Fox, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Star Wars Ep. 1 Racer (that came with the Nintendo when I got it)...others, I'm sure, but I just can't remember. It's probably been at least a year or two since I've been able to play it. But ack, if I can't get the system to work, I'll just sell all those games at Gamestop and get some credit. Mwahaha...
2.
when do you get them??? i haven't played to far into quarentine yet but i see the people running aroudn the towns like bear mimiru and a-20

After you beat Corbenik at the end, Helba emails you and gives you her member address, as well as Sora's, Tsukasa's, and Subaru's. Helba is a very good character, since she's a hacker, with maximum stats and very good equipment. Sora's at level 90, but his messages are always l337 speak and can get annoying. Tsukasa and Subaru, however, are only at level 5 and 15 (respectively), though I'm sure you could just take them to a high level area and use Operation Recover if you really wanted to level them up. I just beat Quarantine yesterday, and I thought I was going to cry when Sora appeared during the second section of the battle with Corbenik. That's probably because I cried when he was data drained in the last episode of .hack//SIGN, about two years ago. Meloves some Sora. I wish you could make a party with Mimiru, though, she's my favorite character out of all of them.
I was going to try to have a .hack Marathon today, in which I would try to beat all four games in one day. I even woke up around 6:30 AM. I lost interest soon after I started, though, and I don't think I could beat all four again in 24 hours. After all, it took me a little less than a week each to beat Mutation and Outbreak (I was pretty obsessed then, after spending over a year off and on with Infection, and now a year off and on with Quarantine). I borrowed the fourth game from my boyfriend about a year ago, and I'm happy that I can finally give it back to him. I'm just hoping he will remember to let me borrow Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
3. The wishfairy arrives and grants your wish, but since you weren't stupid in the first place, you don't get anything out of the deal. That sucks. Well, at least you're not in Auschwitz! I wish .hack//Fragment was out in the U.S., and I had it, and all the things required to play it...

Your Band(s)

I also have a band, but we've never had the chance to rehearse together. It's terrible; anytime I ask them over, the majority of them can't make it. I'm hoping to play some shows at the end of the year, so we have enough time to get ready (I'm praying). Now, here's that generic information you wanted. =D Name: Pandora in a Box Genre(s): Punk, psychobilly, gothic, steampunk Location: TaFlo (I'm copying you =D) US Influences: Rasputina, Misfits, the Casualties We have a few songs, but we haven't played them together yet. I guess you couldn't call us a real band if that's what it takes, but I have huge plans for PiaB. We all use aliases in the band, because I don't want to achieve fame or anything like that. We're going to try to play TSO's "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" at my chorus' Winter concert, but I currently need two other guitarists and possibly another keyboardist. Eight months though!
5. Just to clear things up a little; Green Day is NOT emo. I listen to a lot of punk, and I definitely don't call them punk, but they're not emo either. Compare Thursday or Rufio or a score of other emo bands to Green Day and you'll hear a definite difference. =D Sorry, that was just bothering me. Hindi movies

Welcome to Otakuboards, Up4Anime; Here, we stress elaboration when someone posts a interests thread; in this case, Hindi movies. We'd like to know why you like them, and not just because they are "awesome and cool." It's great that you're interested in something that maybe not many people know about, but because of that chance, we need some more detail on how these movies usually go. We'd also like for you to use a space or two after you use a period. Grammar and all those other important English class functions are pretty important here. And on that note, I've never seen any Hindi movies. It's never really been anything that interested me, but I've got a friend in semantics who likes Indian movies. Is it any different? (Enjoy your stay here, Up4Anime!)
7. I think it's rather obvious! +
8. Your friend now has three legs. However, he/she never wanted three legs, and he/she will repeatedly kick you with them for the rest of your collective lives. And it will be worse, since he/she can kick you twice at once. I wish I didn't have a mosquito bite on my finger.
9. You can now read minds without anyone knowing it! You read everyone's thoughts as you meet them, and you hear some insanely scary stuff. Before long, you're so scared of people's thoughts and the rest of the world that you refuse to leave your house; even to restock your food supply! This does not bode well. I wish I didn't have writer's block.
10. You can now part Catgirl. She lay halved on your living room floor. The police catch you and you're probably going to get the death sentence. I wish I could fast forward through high school and go to the college of my dreams.
11. Petie has asked people before to explain why you like these movies.
Originally posted by Petie As with any favorites thread, it is important to explain why you picked your choices. List after list after list doesn't do much for the discussion. A full review of the movie isn't necessary but a simple reason as to why the movie(s) you picked are your favorites help. Just keep that in mind for any further posts in this thread.
If people continue to post lists, I might have to close this thread. Now, for my favorite movies. I saw Labyrinth on Disney when I was six years old, and I've loved it ever since. I'm a big fan of musicals, and whats more, I adore 80's music. I love the story and the puppets - Jim Henson's brilliance was something to be admired. I've also loved Wizard of Oz since I was really little, but that one is almost self-explanatory. It's a musical, a fantasy, and there's absolutely nothing I can find to not like about it. Sure, the acting isn't award-worthy by todays standards, and the effects and scenery are way outdated, but for a movie from 1939, it's certainly the best. I'll take the fake looking Emerald City over the Star Wars universe any day. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen is Clue. I love everything about this movie, the actors/actresses, the plot, and especially the comedy. There's not much else to describe about it, but I think everyone should see it. Spaceballs, The Producers, and High Anxiety are comedic masterpieces to me. I love Mel Brooks so much. (And the Producers is a musical about
a musical about Hitler.
How can that not be amazing?) My favorite Tim Burton movie is definitely Big Fish. I cry everytime I watch it. The depth of the story and all the weird characters can be extremely inspiring. Like any Tim Burton movie, it's got fantasy and dark humor - not to mention Helena Bonham Carter (but no Johnny Depp).
12. Oh dear. You've become more annoying. In fact, you are SO annoying, that you irritate everyone you come across. No one likes you, all your friends have disowned you, and your family has removed you. All you have left are the Otakuboards--actually, you're so annoying that you spark the BIGGEST flame ever, in the history of the OB. And being annoying, your response is "I know you are but what am I?" Then you get banned. And you end up sleeping in the gutter and dying alone, miserable and penniless. Not that you're annoying in the first place! I wish I could wake up in New Orleans tomorrow. (Rasputina is performing there, DUH)
13. Congratulations! You get to be a faceless villian in a bad action movie. Not only is the face-removing process incredibly painful, but the movie flopped so badly that you owe the bank for being in it. What a horrible horrible fate. I wish I had my very own Chinese restaraunt in my kitchen.
14. After reading your post, I got the impression that you haven't told anyone about the severity of her problem. That seems to me to be the best thing to do; that is, tell someone who can help everything you know about what substances she uses, how often, how she comes by them. I'm just not sure if it's better for you to tell the therapist or the police. You seem to be the only person who can help her, and since that's the case, she probably won't appreciate what you're trying to do for her. She might even end up in jail. I know you won't enjoy that, nor will she, but it's way better than letting her kill herself this way and feeling incredibly guilty about it on top of the pain it would bring you. Heh, I hope this helps, I don't think I'm such a great advice-giver.
15. Welcome to OtakuBoards, mikedirnt and Lonnie_14. I'm going to have to ask you to just elaborate a little more in your posts. Tell us why you're obsessed with those songs; why you like it, what it means to you, something of the sort. Maybe provide your favorite lyric? Just a suggestion...=D One more thing: mikedirnt, please watch your post quality. Right now, it's readable, but we at the OB stress good grammar (and puncuation). You have a little room for improvement, from what I can see. Other than that, I hope you enjoy your stay at the Otakuboards. :D
16. So, you receive the power of Riverdance! Unfortunately, you have forgotten what river dancing really is, and you try to walk on water. You fail. I wish it wasn't so hot in here...
17. The Rolling Stones; "Paint it Black" New word: Killer Heh. I can see this being quite addictive. (Sort of like the music track game and Rhym.)
18. Siouxsie and the Banshees; "Candy Man" I think I cheated! Oh well. New word: Viva
19. I'm not so sure if this belongs here, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I remember a similar experience happening in seventh grade. It was St. Patrick's Day, and my geography teacher, being Irish, gave us the class period off. Someone turned on a stereo to the popular music station, which was horrifying. Finally, one of my best friends took command and put it on the rock station (which is still popular, but it's not crap). The girl who wanted to listen to the crap got really angry and started calling my friend stupid names. Like, "freak," or something. I don't remember how the whole thing ended, though. Freak! I can't remember my happier note. Oh well - but I'm surprised people got happy over Misfits. I mean, I love them, but they're sort of an acquired taste, if you know what I mean.
20. Hah, I'm back with a new lyric thread. It's only called "The Purple Czechs" because that's my ghetto indie label that I made up (and I say ghetto, because it has cheap cheap equipment: a microphone and Audacity). So, without further ado, my latest lyric. ...it will shine when it shines... Paper hearts, they won't break Even they will make mistakes Martyrdom, no relief All we need now is no belief Why can't I open my eyes? I need someone to advise And someone always there to see All I am. A mindless drone In the system. So alone. Never thoughtful. And I can't see All I care about, all I care about is me. Angry face, burning through She's been stuck there since the wind blew Nevermind, I don't care I can't find you anywhere Why can't I open my heart? I think it needs a restart And someone always there to see All I am. A mindless drone. In the system. So alone. Never thoughtful. And I can't see All I care about, all I care about Only God knows, only God knows This is not the way of life I chose Only God knows, only God knows Paper hearts, they won't break Even they will make mistakes Martyrdom, no relief All we need now is no belief Who am I? A mindless drone. In the system. So alone. Never thoughtful. And I can't see All I care about, all I care about Only God knows why I've never shone In the weeping midnight air alone Never thoughtful. And I can't see All who care about, all who care about me. ---- I'm not sure why I rated this thread PG, because I don't cuss or put suggestive content into my works, but you never know. I could get really angry one day and write some pretty scary stuff.
21. You rule Canadia. They pelt a lot (erm, they throw oranges at picket fences). They also travel to the USA to fly to Russia on their Honeymoons, and dig holes to get back to Canadia. You don't understand one bit of it, and because of this, you are a terrible ruler. The people hate you, and they stage a coup. Fortunately for you, their attempts at killing you are thwarted. Unfortunately for you, they were thwarted by an army of very angry Russians who are sick of drunken Canadians digging holes in their country. Canadia turns communist, and you're dead. I wish I could write amazing songs that I actually like.
22. Hah, well, of course I've been affected! I no longer breathe air - I breathe Rasputina. I get giddy whenever I'm near a cello, or whenever I hear one. If that's not proof enough, I have constant dreams about Rasputina. I think if I ever met them, I'd die. Other than that, I think music does affect how people act, in general.
23. Hooray for Raiyuu - he's now the singer of The Cooper Temple Clause! He gets everything that the average singer gets - and that's normally all the attention. He's on the magazine covers featuring his band, he gets interviewed the most, and of course: 95% of the bands groupy fangirls want to have his babies. The rest of the band gets overly jealous, and they decide to break up out of envy. Way to go, Raiyuu. I wish I could play the cello well.
24. Renayiiq, Nomura was only sharing a semi-personal experience that he had recently. I don't think you had any reason to dissect everything he said and tell him to shut up, and just because you don't agree with isn't a reason. Seems like you were the one on the soapbox. I don't see why people get so offended when other people proclaim their faith, or lack thereof. Sure, others may not agree with it, but does it hurt anyone? I can understand offense and anger if a someone killed another's close friend or relative, saying that they did it for their religion. But that hasn't happened here, and it's not going to. I stand by my beliefs. I know that evolution or the Big Bang could not have happened without a higher power (God) to make it. I don't believe in the Big Bang at all, because the Bible says that God created the world. I look outside and see a blue sky, some clouds, vibrantly green trees and grass, tiny animals and other squirrels and things. I could look in the mirror and see me on the outside, or look at another person and see how different we look. I've seen real human structures (the Bodies exhibit at Mosi) and all the complex systems that we're made up of. I don't understand how anyone could think that those things could just happen on their own. And what's really ironic; science helped me come to this conclusion. (I don't understand atheism or agnosticism either. It may be that I don't know enough about either, but if you don't believe in anything or think it's a big waste of time, then just say you have no religion. =P) And one more thing - several years ago, my grandmother died, and her family gathered at her house. I was emotionally sick at this time, so I had to stay with my great aunt. She told us that once, she hurt her arm very badly and was going to have surgery on it. Her whole church was praying for her arm. When she woke up the morning of the surgery, the pain in her arm was gone, and when she went to the doctor, they decided to cancel the surgery because she didn't need it anymore. How's that for a miracle? I don't believe that, if in need of medical attention, you should avoid it and immerse yourself in prayer instead. That wouldn't be very smart. But honestly, I'd say prayer would help the situation end in a way that could be favored greatly to an end with no prayer. I've never been in a situation like that myself, but I have a friend who badly hurt her ankle and had to have surgery for five hours. After she woke from the surgery, she was back to normal (except for her ankle, of course, I mean personality-wise) and left the hospital in three days. I think she's still on crutches, but hey - now she gets special treatment! =D
25. This year, high school was terrible. I definitely do not like being a freshman. Unfortunately, the same immature idiots in my class will be there again next year, and the probably won't be any less immature or idiotic. At least I have some better classes next year. High school is going by really fast for me, which is strange because all of my best friends are at a completely different school, and I'm not a social person at all. Sure, I've found some people I'm comfortable talking to, but nothing fills in the gap made by the distance between my friends and me. I can't wait for it to be over. (Maybe because this summer is going to be amazing).
