That's the kind of reaction I wish I'd have, but I don't think I've grown up enough yet. I'm still quite protective of the things I do, and, constructive criticism aside, to have someone out-and-out insult it without even looking at it properly is one of the few things that really rile me up. I'm annoyed that it annoyed me so much, because I know he was just being a pretentious arse. I guess it's naive to hope to avoid all kinds of confrontations like that, especially as I'm hoping to become a writer and/or actor, which'll lend itself to people being fanatically spiteful for little to no reason :p
Think of it this way... Most people that get on the internet and tell someone they're doing something wrong in writing or acting, and act rude while doing so.... Most likely don't write or act so often anyway. So, what damage can they do, if they obviously know not of the efforts you put into your work?

1. What have your experiences with rudeness on the internet been? Youtube of course. It's true, people will watch videos just so they can say it sucks. Ive seen too much of it, and then of course people that try and retaliate by yelling at the rude person. It doubles the rudeness. And then you have the people being rude in foreign languages on youtube, in hopes you won't know what they're saying, lol. Some people have been rude on the OB too, it's pretty much just everywhere. 2. Do you get affected by them, generally? Sometimes. Most of the time I understand it's just an ignorant fool, prepared to make someone else's internet time miserable on sites that deserve better. Sometimes they may try and act smart, or be flashy, or go on forever until it gets to me... But only sometimes. 3. Have you ever been deliberately rude to someone over the Net, and why? Aha, yes. Why? Mostly people that deserved it, for being rude to me as well. 4. Do you think there are times when it's justified? Absolutely. If someone's rude to you, if you want to retaliate, that's your choice. 5. Why do you think people feel the need to make unecessary comments online? Obesity. People that have already seen every tourrettes guy webisode, Red Vs. Blue, and people that have beat their entire videogame collection already, or got tired because they're incapable of doing so. This would result in anger bottling up inside. Oh yes, these people can do some damage... Not physical... But, they have the internet at their disposal.

I prefer Radiohead over Tool. Simply because, I feel Radiohead just has good sometimes simple and mellow music, that I can relate to, and Tool sometimes has darker sounds, and yet, I still find these bands to be similar. Yesterday, I listened to The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Meddle, and a few songs off of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn by Pink Floyd. Out of all of these, I feel Meddle is my favorite. Most of their albums are just mellowed out as can be, and just make you feel happy, gliding along clouds, and some times, depress you. These four albums would be the only four I have by the band, and while it's kind of depressing that they were before my time (along with Genesis, who I happen to prefer over Pink Floyd) at least you can still find their music around here. Right now, however, I'm listening to a band I'd assume no one here likes, since they're a mainstream suckcore, scene extravaganza. I'm listening to Beloved, an act that spurred up bands like He is Legend (Beloved is better than He is Legend by my book). Failure On is an amazing CD, though the guitars are simple, and feature riffs that alot of bands today would bend and play around with, the songs are written so well. Anyone that wants a raunchy southern-esque sound, with a few slower, soft sung bits, and some chugga chugga, breakdowns, and quite a few screamed vocals... Listen to Beloved.
If you're going to insist on talking about genres, then do it nicely. No name-calling, no insults. Do not get overheated and lose control. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. If anyone has another outburst (ahem, Hunter), I'm going to have to step in for real. Play nice, please.
A little late there? Does anyone have the feeling that when The Chariot's vocalist got kicked out off Norma Jean, he took a little bit of their style, and contributed to his latter band, but obviously just added more speed, and slower breakdowns? So, right now I'm just cruisin through iTunes. Listening to bands like Japanther, The Locust, Drive Like Jehu, Test Icicles, Boredoms and Melt-Banana (I actually found two J-rock bands that sound similiar! yayyy)... some of these guys are pretty noisey. I give alot of props to Japanther, for being a two man band with skills.. I suggest anyone that likes noisey, sometimes mathy crap, try and listen to the bands as listed. However, currently, I'm just listening to For Screening Purposes Only, by Test Icicles.

Fair enough. But I don't really find it silly at all, that I say #12 is a deathcore infulenced band... Considering deathcore is made up of mostly made up of high pitched vocals, and death metal vocals, along with chugga chugga breakdowns and grindcore tempos, and sometimes, thrash melodies. #12 just added math, it seems, after their "Put On Your Rosy Red Glasses" EP. This is funny, that The Chariot is not considered noisecore. However, in all honesty, everyone down here calls The Chariot noisecore. Christian kids. Darnit. And good job, Claire! Godspeed You! Black Emperor is an amazing project... though I only have a few songs, (typical that I can't find their music in my local record store.) Right now I'm listening to Chris Loggins, aka Hokie. This guy is pretty cool, making a mix between (sorry if anyone would even have to disagree with these genres, but they seem simple enough) county and blues... Everyone should look him up on myspace, or whatever. He's good if you ever just wanna mellow out. He's got a nice band behind him, acoustic stuff, blues solos, some cello and choir vox, etc.

Now, what am I listening to? Die Kreuzen- a nice hardCORE band. Bring me the Horizon- a nice deathCORE band. As the Sun sets- a nice mathCORE band. Alesana- a nice post-hardCORE band The chariot- a nice noiseCORE band norma jean- a nice metalCORE band.

Nice ad, Panache. >_< I like Radiohead as well, they have a pretty experimental sound to them as well... Avant garde, indeed. I like some of their more mellow songs.. like Creep. At one time Creep was my favorite song... It's so catchy. Now I'm listening to THE COPS KILLED KENNY. www.myspace.com/thecopskilledkenny I highly suggest anyone who sees this post goes to that page and listens to make music. :]]]

Well, my current addiction is...well. Quite a dorky and awkward game, considering the AI have such strange abilites, and can't give off realistic emotions whatsoever. However, the gameplay is just fun. Fun enough for anyone to overlook the dorkyness and the HUNDREDS of glitches floating about the game. Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for the Xbox 360. So far, I've only played 51 hours. I have many more to go, considering there are hundreds of quests I can go on, and secrets I can find. This is fun for the action fans and RPG fans alike, though the story isn't the best.. Still, a very fun game. The graphics aren't amazing either, but. Like I've already said, it's very fun. So yeah. Fun. And whatnot.

Uh... Well, as it would turn out... my favorite book isn't so poetic or anything. Actually, it's about a demon that has to have hosts to survive, so he puts his mark on someone, it being a black tattoo... It isn't as similiar to Naruto as it sounds. But over all, The Black Tattoo by Sam Enthoven is a very interesting and creative book, and didn't take me any time at all to read and re-read the fivehundred something pages. Look it up, children. It's good. The Dark Tower Series is also very good, though I havn't finished them all yet, but I have read the prequel comic book, which provides alot of good backstory for the novels. I suggest it for fans of the series, and others that havn't read any of them... unless you have some strange hate for graphic novels.
I'm fascinated by tattoos and piercings. I can't even fully explain why, other than they "look cool." How lame am I? Hah. I'd love to have some body mods in the future, but I don't really have any good ideas with any good reasons. The only piercing I've been wanting for a while would be in my lip, to the right of center. The only reason being that I like how it looks. I wouldn't mind having a tattoo of a rainbow colored nautical star, either, but only because I love how the different colors look. I can't figure out where I would place it. I don't want to just get a tattoo for that reason though. I'm too young right now, anyway, but I figure if I still think it's a good idea by the time I'm eighteen I might consider getting it done. I wish I was creative enough (and had important things to represent symbolically!) to design something meaningful for myself. However, some body mods really freak me out...like horn implants. Those are the worst, in my opinion; they look like those cartoon bumps growing out of someone's forehead. Just looking at pictures of them give me a headache. Surface piercings are pretty creepy, too. Especially when they're gauged. Guuuhh. Some places just don't need to be pierced, like your cheek, or your back. :[ I don't understand the appeal some people find in those kinds of mods. If I ever met someone with such, I wouldn't express any discomfort outwardly, but they'd definitely be hard for me to be around. It's okay to be "different," but why does that have to be synonymous with "creepy" sometimes?
ahhh... Horn implants are just weird. But I still wouldn't mind having a friend like that as long as they didn't purposely creep me out with their different mods... "Snake people" creep me out even worse... Argh... If I get a tattoo, I'd probably get something like... hot pink or cyan, coming up my happy trail from inside of my jeans... None on my.. private parts though. That's creepy and slightly chilling as well. I'm okay with cheek studs... As long as they're not really huge, on girls it's kind of cute. I did at one time have two peircings... Just snakebites on my lips, if anyone remembers. But I took them out like... a month ago for risk of infection in one, and if I was to only have one, I'd just take out both... So. Now, I'm modless. Darnit. -
This just in, the agonist is indeed a deathcore band. :] It's pretty good except that I don't like the chorus verse system. But the dual vocals are awesome... Considering the lead singer is a chick and can scream so furious... like... a dude. She's awesome. Anyway, I've never heard Jack that Knife. Right now my music players aren't working.. They kind of mood swings, well Myspace does anyway. Prem, I actually dont listen to much grindcore anyway, because I can't stand just grind by itself, without some form of other genre to switch over to. Wecamewithbrokenteeth would be the only one I listen to, other than bands close to grind... like the Number 12, which usually gets written off as a grind band or noisecore band. The word noisecore band just sparked me to listen to the Chariot. The Chariot is a chaotic noisecore band like that of Norma Jean, but faster... and well. With more noise and ringing guitar sounds, and just banging the crap out of the drums.

I don't fit in with the mainstreams... I guess. Because why? I'm casual. I don't need to be in a abercrombie society, because I like to just dress in casual clothes that aren't particularly "preppy". I'm in with the scene kids, because I don't go out of my way just to make everyday a photoshoot for myspace, and rainbows. I think that people that just insist on wearing black all the time are posers, and are just as worried about their image as preps and scene kids. I wear my hair long, just BECAUSE, I like to hide my face. Sometimes I feel shy, and I'm not just saying that because I'm secretly conceited (scenexcore)... I believe... you could call me GRUNGE.. Ooooo Grunge. Gee. I'm kind of different. At least, down here I am. Maybe somewhere else, I'd be a normal teenager with normal interests, like hanging out with somebody besides preps and rednecks.. I think mods are cool. Not too many though... and I don't like split tongues, sorry, but that wouldn't stop me form talking to someone with one... So down here, I'm kind of different. But my real friends love me. In Ashville, North Carolina, I'm different, cause I don't try to be goth, or whatever you call it (me and friends went there not too long ago, and to the hot topic as well... it was pretty funny). But everyone was really nice there... Well the girls were, anyway. I have no mods. The only mods I want, I'll get in a few years. oh and one more thing. YOU'RE NOT A GOOD PERSON IF YOU DISCRIMINATE BECAUSE OF DIFFERENCES. that pretty much clears up what I think. go me. -
SOMEONE FINALLY LISTENED TO ME!!! HOLY ****!!! This requires a small personal celebration for me. So as of now I am listening to Pink Riots by Dog Fashion Disco This song I just downloaded from itunes recently. I must say it is a very sexy song. His voice make it seem apocalyptic yet in the background there is a sort of carnival like sound which makes for a very odd experience.
I think that's why I like them alot as well... They have a very odd sound, while not going too crazy with their stuff. They've got a nice original sound... Like if Art rock and Metal formed together to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, lol. Good job, Prem. At least you admit to liking some metalcore bands.. May I suggest something a little out of the box though... Listen to Norma Jean, Underoath, and Heavy Heavy Low Low. These three bands provide us with some metalcore, that has good assets, and slightly original sounds... Between The Buried and Me would be on the list too, but I see you've already listened to them. Hoorah! Today. I listened to... Uh... The Number Twelve Looks Like You actually... I seem to listen to them alot. Now, I'm listening to the Agonist. It's either a melodic death metal band, a deathcore band, or a cool metalcore band... Doesn't matter.. They don't sound like many deathcore bands I've heard, and I know deathcore.. Speaking of deathcore. I just now switched over to listening to these fine bands that I suggest anybody that wants a cross between real metal and metalcore, should find it here. Bring Me The Horizon From A Second Story Window Embrace the End Arsonists Get All The Girls Arma Angelus The Number 12 Looks Like You is also rooted in deathcore, as From A Second Story Window, in mathcore. Well... On the subject of mathcore, it's basically just a genre like metalcore, deathcore or hardcore with odd time signatures, calculated, technical riffs and drum beats, with some jazz influence... At least, that's what I know it to be... I'm listening to several math bands right now... As the Sun Sets, which I highly recommend.... The Number Twelve Looks Like You (which I'm always listening to, considering they are my favorite), The Dillinger Escape Plan (Mostly Calculating Infinity, but I listen to some of their other stuff sometimes as well...) Converge and Botch of course, ... Some Girls has got to be one of my favorites besides The Number 12 too... They're effing... crazy. I love it. and while this band is really a sure-thing practitioner of mathcore, they're very similiar, with their time sig changes, and strange appeal... HORSE the Band. Nintendocore, to the max.... Love it. R. Borlax is my favorite album, and in fact, I was listening to it most of today, before switching to Enter Shikari, a similiar Post-hardcore act with great time signatures and synth riffs. edit: Well, I noticed Panache talking about Dog Fashion Disco alot... So I decided to give them a try.... They're really good. I figured they'd be a metalcore band at first, but what I got was a great avant-garde band, which I like... So I now know where Panache's Custom title is from, and I'd like to congrat him, on having cool musical interests. Bam Blam Thank You Ma'ame.

Well, Lips of an Angel isn't exactly what moves me so much... But other than that. Valentine's Day Sucks. I hate it. I Hateee itt. Since we're on the suject of dating, right now, I'm lonely, but I have asked over a friend of mine... Which I have a small spark for... It'll just be casual, and if something happens, something happens. If it doesn't, well that sucks. I recently kind of fell for a girl, and she just didn't like me. I'm not exactly in her crowd, which is important for popularity and girls. So, wish me luck everyone, yes?

Well, this thread is kind of old, but its not worth making a new thread over... My band added new songs up on their myspace recently, which you can click on in my sig.. but... www.myspace.com/thecopskilledkenny Just in case. :] We havn't got many plays yet, considering noone knows wtf we are... I'm pretty sure noone likes us that much either. All I hear is "OMG I LOVE YOUR SONG WHAT DO WE REALLY KNOW ABOUT SCIENCEEE!!!!"... which is just a song... that's there. Just to show our calmed down side, without all the noise, but they don't say much for our actual style, which is something a bit close to noise and acoustic guitars... techno... etc. We try to incorperate jazz too, but we suck... We even try to add weird time signatures, but we suck at those too. We're not even technically screamo, or metalcore. Just popcore. How sucky is that? Anyway listen to us. We own.
-
I hear it's heavier than their older stuff. I havn't heard th entirety of the new single, just because, I don't really listen to the radio or watch MTV all that much. I bet it's just another chugga chugga, chorus filled salute to metalcore.. If you're into metalcore, then get it. Metalcore isn't ******, it just doesn't have many originals in the genre.

Nice song Rachmaninoff! I love all kinds of piano works... I can't play so well, but I really enjoy it.. Violins, Cellos, Violas and Pianos are the four instruments I love hearing music like this, and other kinds too, like Jazz.... Ghosts Over Japan- From A Second Story Window What an unpredictable song... everything by this band is so DEATHCORE-ish! And this song was a beautiful piano track song with nice clean vocals... I love it. But what I've been listening to for the past three days, over and over aain is definitely Heavy Heavy Low Low. I love this band...Such original metalcore. They have style, sweet dual guitar and vocals. Fast songs, time sig changes... They keep me interested. And to end it all, with what seems to be an improv acoustic version of There's A Bat... involving a few nice phrases "If it's not a f**king bat, I'm a mother f**king sonovab***********chhh." lol. MILK ITS!

Lol, Sorry I say Epic alot? So here it goes again. Fear Before the March of Flames- Odd How People Shake One of the best post-hardcore may ever see. EPIC. :] Makes me feel all sad, and then happy, and some parts of just are... well. Dance-worthy. The melodic parts aren't bad, the hardcore parts are good. The time signatures. Love them. Dual vox. Great. Dual guitars. Swwweeet. I second that motion for the Amon Amarth album With Oden On Our Side, I've listened to it many times lately... It's epic, as well. It could've been longer though... But I do have the bonus disc that came with it, that has a few demos and live songs, so I'm satisfied. Viking sword slinging reign of terror and emotion death metal? Hope that genre makes it onto purevolume and myspace. Children of Bodom- Follow The Reaper/Hate Crew Deathroll/ Hatebreeder I used to listen to CoB all the time, before I got into newer types of... bands. I still listen to these albums occasionally and of course CoB is still an awesome band. Influenced me, when I was younger, still do today. Now before anyone makes fun of me, I like many different kinds of music... and this one album really gets to me... It's a good album, really is! It's got speed, and great teen spirit to it, and the instruments and vox sound pretty nice to me. It's not another pop album, and who cares whether or not you like what their new sound sounds like? Fall Out Boy- Evening Out With Your Girlfriend It's a great album, really, and have decency, I know someone may say something about the band... But atleast actually know what the songs on the album sound like first. Like I said, it's fast stuff, and the time signatures are really fun, the vox are all poppy, but more like.. well, they are, but kind not all sugared up lol. Best pop punk album. Alesana- On Frail Wings Of Vanity and Wax Well, this band is just fun, and can make generic music into something kind of original! :D It's great though... The first time I saw them on stage I fell in love... Triple guitarists, Vox from two of the guitarists and some from the guy just running around, and then alot of time sig changes! All of this is on the album as well, and it's a great one... You can tell it took a lot of work to make it. Gorillaz- Demon Days lol... Uh, well It's one of my favorite hiphop hybrid whatever bands... Ncie guitar and synth and bass, of course, the vocals and rap mix well with each other, the quirkyness lightens everything up, and then you'll have a few sad parts... I don't know how to explain it.
-
Well, I guess I'd go ahead and make a kickbutt English version, instead of making a kickbutt Japanese version.. Let's be honest, I could go ahead and make a Japanese version that kicked butt, but all of those later turn into Dubs for kids. So, yeah, Just to make things easier and avoid what's inevitable (because ofcourse America would want my excellent ideas, lol) I'd go for dub. But, a dub NOT for kids. Hallelujah.
-
That reminds me. I've definitely listened to III by Coheed and Cambria many times, considering it's another of my favorites... I also believe that I've listened to AFI's Sing the Sorrow maybe 40 times, (a la Clurr). It's really still enjoyable, while I kind of don't like decemberunderground so much, Sing the Sorrow is definitely a great epic album... One of those that made me get into a bit of post-punk and popcore bands. I havn't ever really counted how many times I listen to music.. I listen to a different album, every night, right before falling to sleep, and listen to a few songs every morning, sometimes from the album from the night before... If only I counted, I bet I've finished alot more. :]
-
Respect there man. Re-spect. I know I've listened to Circle takes the square's "As the Roots Undo" more than 20 times... and Enter Shikari's Take it to the Skies. Both are absolutely "epic"... Different, though. One is like abunch of stuff being slammed around, and breaking... and the other is like robots in a technovsinstruments fight... with alot of voxx..
-
Well. I have a few... for sure, that is. I do skip alot of songs.. But occasionally I just chill, and listen to a full album. In some cases, like Circle Takes the Square or The Number 12 Looks Like You, I just go from the first song to the end, and the start over. And sometimes I have phases in which I play the cd every single freaking day. So, I originally put 40 or more times, but perhaps that was too much for most people. Strike the Choir- It's Worth It ep... I literally have played this cd almost a hundred times. I got it at their CD release show, and for a wile I played it everyday. It's still one of my most precious CDs.. Great band. The Number 12 Looks Like You- Nuclear. Sad. Nuclear. It's so EPIC! The album that grabbed me and made The Number 12 one of my favorites, definitely. They really do have it all there... Well, everything I wanted from a band, and more. Thank you guys, for getting me into odd time signature bands! Wooh! Heavy Heavy Low Low- Everyone's Watched, Everyone's Watching How could you not play this more than 20 times? It's like... 15-20 minutes long.. But it's still freaking awesome. At first, however, I didn't know what to make of the band.. But now they're definitely one of my favorites.. Like Norma Jean on crack. Underoath- The Changing of Times By far, Underoath's best album... (Define the Great Line is really good and all... but this is just... well. Epic.) Broken heart albumsssss T___T. It's a really sad album, but it makes you feel really good and tingly on the inside (bammm). One of my favorites of all time. Yes, indeed. The Cops Killed Kenny- The North Star Is Nowhere to be Found Well, I've been through my band's new album maybe 45678543 times... Definitely more than 20. I'm kind of self conscience about it, so I listen to it all the time, and try and think like some other person... would they like this? would they like that? It may be the most played album on my iPod.. besides It's Worth It, that is.
