1. I'd like it for every mod just to act like normal members, until they're ACTUALLY needed.. And then perhaps we wouldn't have to pity them so much. Good thing alot of the mods have hearts, and can act like normal human beings.. If you're going to to tell someone they're doing something wrong... At least say please? :] Ah, but it would help if some of the regular members didn't act like school children.. Aye. Either way, it does seem that the OB members will never be fully satisfied..
2. Well, I was raised off of barbecue and buffalo fried chicken, kool-aid and moonpies. That's how we do it in AR. Well, not really... that's kind of just me.. AR is full of: 1) Mcdonalds 2) Subway 3) Olive Garden 4) Numerous BBQ and Fish stands 5) Taco Bell 6) Burger king 7) Sonic 8) Chinese food restaurants that noone eats at 9) Hispanic food restaurants that people go to 10) Wal-marts So.. any food from those places, and that's pretty much all I eat, except fish. I don't like good old fashioned meals from my mother... I'd prefer fast food... Unless it was a pasta salad with nice Italian dressing, or a chicken fettucini dish... Also, we alot of deermeat down here in the south. And everyone drinks beer. So. Yeah..
3.
You should save those blandishments for the threads where people get all riled up and start spamming the CAPS lock button. In essence, I can see how things were taken out of context. The word cluster...screw... is starting to be more and more applicable. But in the meantime this is something that deserves discussion not just a quick dismissal. But seriously Charlie, you are JUST discovering OB is a fascist state? We've come to accept this for some time now. It's just part of life. Kinda like living in Italy in the 1930s.
Haha, that post made me
4. Some days I have the guts to ask a girl out.. some days I'm hoping for someone to ask me. Either way, I don't like dating people that I don't know, and I never been on a one-time date that never turns into a relationship. So.. Dating is good. Sometimes dates can go horribly wrong for me, considering... I'm such a dork. And sometimes girls just annoy me, not that I don't understand me... It's just... The ones I end up with turn out to be snakes in the grass, ready to bite the flesh from my heel. Ooooohhh. Nice choice of words. Other than that, Dating is a nice way to get to know somebody or share a night with somebody you have feelings for. And remember kids... Anything can turn into a date! BAM!
5. Well, whether or not this helps in the least bit. You're a nice guy. Nice guys DON'T always finish last. But you gotta keep up. And keep going. If you love her, and she still has a spark for you... Make that spark turn into bursting flame of fire. ...My words are cheesy, but that's just how I feel about the situation.
6. SunfallE is actually a really nice lady. So, if you somehow don't believe that she didn't mean it in that way... Then. Think of her as a warm cute panda bear. That's how nice she is. (didn't mean for this to sound creepy lol) However... alot of the mods can be meanies sometimes. Us regular members try to ignore their ignorance, and sometimes even leave.. Sometimes they can't see that they're in no way helping anyone... I hope I don't get in trouble for a bit of the truth, here. :] But, here is not the case. So, everyone be happy. Resolved and adjourned, yes?
7. What it be? Me. Why it be dat? I love me. You don't love me, but I don't love you either. So, ha. Haaaa. Haaaaa. Haaaaa. What it be? 2008Digitalboy Why it be dat? There's a chance he has no life, and so he devotes it to the OB. And for that, I less than three him. What it be? Prem Why it be dat? The underdogs are always secretly cool. Prem gives me funny and awkward posts, that tend to make my day. Thanks for that Prem. By the way, your posts sometimes don't make sense, but I less than three you. What it be? Sandy Why it be dat? He's gay. I'm totally for it, d00d. What it be? Jakehammeren Why it be dat? He was by far the coolest guy in the amphitheater when he was around.. And everyone took the man for granted. I hope you all feel bad. That dude was awesome. And he would like you all to know... That the bands you're talking about aren't METAL. :] What it be? Goodbye, Face Why it be dat? I bet fifty of his posts have something to do with lashing out on me, Prem or DB. And, that my friends... Takes devotion. Thanks for being devoted to lowering our self esteem, Kev. Less than threez for you. What it be? Everyone that still posts on OB!!!! Why?????? Because you give me something to be amused by! :D
8.
Well, lately me and my GF have been haivng a healthier relationship, but today me and her were talking on the phone with another one of my freinds. Anyways about 30 minutes into the conversation my friend calls. Well, he's one of my best friends so I decided to tak to him for a bit. Anyways he tells me to tell my other freind to three-way him. (Yes haha, but not like that so don't let that cross your mind.) Anyways, I go to the other line to tell my friend that and she says, no I'm going to leave and my girlfriend says the same thing, or something quite like it. But now, she's mad at me for talking to him. And UGH! So, what can I do about this perdicament?
Well, after you sorted this out, I'm gonna reply. Maybe that was just a bad time for her, or maybe she's even more immature than I am. Either way. Trust your spidey senses from now on to what MAY or MAY NOT tick off your gf. Mine was crazy. Of course, I didn't find that out... A few months later, when everyday seemed like her time of the month. Sigh. What a girl that was...
9. I heard about this on G4 a while back. Kind of saddens me... He was in two of my favorite movies... 10 Things I Hate About You and Lords of Dogtown. In 10 things he played an Australian badass that was payed to go out with a girl he ended up falling for... In the other, he played a messed up surfshop owner that started a legendary skate team and then went crazy.. And to what aceburner said a while back.. THEY SUCK. They're not good christians, at all now are they? lol ...Pwnage.
10.
Isn't Pop Rap Redundant? I thought Rap was like..pop hip hop. I thought that was the definition. Anyway I like some of Kanye's Stuff and other stuff I don't. I prefer Mos Def to him by far. He takes some of the clever wordplay of Talib Kweli and some of the Aggression of Eminem and then spins it in his own little way. But Eminem is my favorite rapper shortly followed by Common and Mos Def. So it irks me if people say negative stuff about them...especially if it isn't true.(That was a general proclamation since you actually weren't talking about Eminem)
I like Eninem alot as well.. Not so much Mos Def. I like Eninem's sad-ish stuff alot, and then a few of his aggressive tunes.. I just can't listen to a full album from him.. The only close-to-electronica whatever musician I listen to is Lady Sovereign. Lady Sovereign is another of my favorite rap/hip-hop/singer ladiez.
11.
Eminem isn't poser rap...wtf? Just because his records sell he's instantly a poser? Unless you were just talking about 50 cent then sure he sucks ***. Common-Be Soulful beautiful poetry from an amazing thinker.
I wasn't referring to either actually, just poser rap in general, but yes 50 cent is not an OG. Nor will he ever be in my mind. Common and Kayne West are among my top two favorite of the pop-rap type stuff... Quite nice. :] I don't know what to make of Kayne's new album... I like alot of it, some parts I don't, Common never did me wrong however.
12.
Eminem/DMX/Obie Trice Go to sleep ***** Man this is some mean ****.
...Well, at least it wasn't 50 cent... As far as rap goes, I listen to the kick-A rap... not some of the poser crap. Mince Meat- Danger Doom Good rap.
13. major fail? Ah, but Gospel has alot of post-rock shiz, right? And, really, do vocals matter in iwouldetc.? The music is really good. Anyway, today I just so happened to finish the Gospel cd twice... once before classes, and once as soon as I got home. The drums are so refreshing, and the guitars and vocals carry a nice ambient sound... or something kind of.. mesmerizing? The techno "psychadelic" sounds add greatness to it as well, and the instrumental parts are great. I also finished the day off with some good old pop rock. Some of you may be familiar with "Dear Diary, My Teenage Angst Has A Body Count" by From First to Last. Finished that album off today as well, though it's less sophisticated and more mainstream sound than Heroine, I like it more. BAM!
14.
Oh no, I download music plenty of times. I avoid popular stuff and try to only DL stuf I can't find, but yeah, I even had a few songs froom the album when they were leaked way back. I just want to wait because this is a special release. I want the dramatic epicness of it.
Yes, I know. And that earned you five cool points. Live with it. And... today I started the day off with some I Would Set Myself on Fire For You's album Believes in Patterns. Beautiful stuff, alot of jazz, alot of instrumental bits... Some parts bore me, but I really like Twelve, Three, Six, Seven, So This is Our Home Now, and Nine. Those are nice songs. Later on today, I listened to pmtoday. A local band, that's very near famous, and has an awesome new album out. They're for postrock fans, like that of Circa Survive. And recently, right now that is, I'm listening to Fur Elise, which features one of my favorite singers, Lindsey, from Iwouldetc. It's cool, but it's not iwouldetc. Sigh. DB, listen to I would set myself on fire for you. If you like pretty viola, alot of acoustic jazz guitar, and sweet harsh vocals mixed in with pretty melodic female vocals..
15.
Yes, I own it. It's awesome, haven't listened to it in a month or so however. I missed a chance to see Brand New live a while ago, that was kind of lame of me. Unless I'm in the right mood for listening to the band as a whole, I'm only into "Sowing Season" off the new record. Deja Etendu had a lot more just plain fun songs. Devil and God etc. gets just a little too sad. Also, I just can't see you seriously liking Melt Banana, I like their music until the vocals kick in, I know it part of their aesthetic and they really like sounding like that, but I just can't bring myself to enjoy it. Their new cd is a lot of straight-forward and punk, where the others were just really noisy. And TMV's upcoming CD is The Bedlam in Goliath. It comes out at the end of them month. I've been listening to it more and more and I've basically decided that the only track that really attract my attention are "Goliath" (for the last half of it) and "Cavalettas." The latter is really cool because of how they play a verse and then the beat breaks down and they start all over with something else added to it. It's really hard to explain, but you'll know it and love it once you hear it.
It's a nice style change, though. The whole sad thing, and Deja entendu seems to me like something you would listen to riding round with abunch of teenage buddies of yours. The Sowing Season is an amazing song, one of my favorites, but I usually listen to the album in full when I listen to it... I don't like Deja Entendu as much as I once did, however, my tastes change, I guess... And Melt- Banana is effin awesome because of the noise! :] Chaos. Chaoooss. I love it. Crap flying everywhere. Tis nice. But for some reason. I don't like Calm Song by pg. 99. Noise is awesome. But I can't tell wtf is going on at all in that song. Goodbye Face is one of the better chaotic songs, but I enjoy their punk-ish stuff alot better than the chaotic stuff. As for Mars Volta... I'm pretty excited about the reviews I've seen and the previews I've heard. This album. I want it. I also have been listening to Me and Him Call it Us. Now, that is good chaos! :D Well written chaos at that. And also. HeavyHeavyLowLow. Not so much like Norma Jean as people were describing them to me. But Everyone's Watched, Everyone's Watching is one of my favorite albums now. Great stuff. I may also get Loss by Me And Him Call it Us. Recommendations, Kevin? And DigiBoy, you just earned five cool points for saying that line about downloading music. Respect there, brethren.
16.
That's because Insomniac Doze isn't a hardcore record so much. They haven't been incredibly aggressive with their music for almost the past ten years. Heck, the vocalist does guest work for Mogwai albums. Unfortunately, all their albums from before Insomiac Doze seem to be out of print, I'm sure my copy of Dead Sinking Story is approaching eBay gold material. But I wouldn't worry about it too much, their old stuff isn't that impressive, it was their transitional material where they explored kind of a Planes Mistaken for Stars sound that really grabbed me. Anyway, I definitely ganked the new Mars Volta record. I'll feel free to say it: this is the first Mars Volta album that I seriously enjoy listening to. There is no "let's start the album with 10 minutes of bull****," the first song springs right at you and what from what I've listened to, it doesn't get too pretentious. The "lame" parts of the songs only last for a minute or so. Also, the lyrics make sense. Great record, or GREATEST RECORD?
I could've gotten Dead Sinking Story, because the place I order most of my CDs from have alot of stuff like that in print, but for the sake of being a noob to the band I just wanted to get their latest stuff first... I've never heard Mogwai, but I have listened to Melt- Banana (which really has no association with them as far as I know, other than being a J- rock band)... I wouldn't want to call them Math-rock or Mathcore, because I'm probably wrong, but they are good, indeed. I've listened to the Mars Volta numerous times... but, never bought a full-length album aha.. But I will say I love their live shows. It's like their own little orchestra of jazz guys running around on stage. I find some of their stuff to just be... Boring. I will have to get a few songs (which may end up being like thirty minutes of stuff, considering how long their songs are..) off the album and give them a test listen. What's the name of the album? Anyway, what I'm listening to right now is one of my favorite albums of all time. The Devil and God are Raging inside of me by Brand New. It's better (to me) than Deja Entendu, and has alot more feeling, and emotion. Perhaps one of you guys would liek this band... being a bit of different style of alternative music, but ultimately, just a really good band. Creative too. :] It's kind of old-ish, but if you don't have it, you should go buy it... Maybe even Kevin here would like it?
17. Four friends and I piled into a small Japanese four passenger car last night to ride thirty miles to see this movie. Sure, it was well worth it. Though my friends didn't like it as much as me, I can't blame them. It's for select audiences... I don't see how people could get sick during it, I wasn't sick at all. In fact, if I had time, I'd go watch it again tonight, just so I could absorb all the missed details. You really do have to pay attention to the film. The whole film is about irony, and I do quite love films such as those. My friends complaiend about the ending, but I think I may have settled them down by telling them that it just wouldn't be a scary or mysterious, or perhaps, even a good film if at the end, they had
lived, and if someone had taken the time to explain what the creature was (even though it's pretty clear that the monster "Cloverfield?" was most likely the result of government testing, which sadly, they were willing to destroy New York to get rid of)
... It did indeed remind me of 9/11.. I think some parts of the film have just... their own little value. Rob and Beth are clearly in love, and
they die together, like a twisted Romeo and Juliet, involving nighthawks, bombs and a giant sea monster.
The setting itself is beautiful, and the handheld is refreshing style, taken away from mindless films like Blair Witch project. The visual effects... are amazing. I was very pleased by them, and even more pleased by how realistic a monster-attacking- New York situation can be. Good stuff. Definitely a 9 out of 10 for me. :D
18. Man, you need to go off and buy everything from them. It's all good. :D I feel so elitist next to my friend Alex. I've bought every song on the game except for My Curse by Killswitch Engage just to mess with him (his musical interests are worse than mine)... That song by Fall of Troy was too hard for him. xD But I guess talking about games is off-topic. So, I as well, have been listening to Fall of Troy lately, aha. And also, The Number 12 looks like you, as well. I'm highly anticapating their new album. Argh. They've snuck up on me with new songs on myspace... I've also been listening to Circle Takes the Square.. Just because they're epic... And Envy as well, trying to sit through an album... It's not that I don't like them, it's just... at times, not the most exciting music in the genre, lol. Also been re-re-re-re listening to Demon Days by the Gorillaz. What a great album, am I right, DB? :D
19. Aha. Thank you for your post, Face. I was thinking more along of the lines of just plain-out being feminine and sexy... I wouldn't have sex to any kind of music, my friend, other than the Nordic flute. Under the circumstances you may always have a post to counter mine, because I have no talent of typing to describe how I feel about music, yes, we get it. You're smarter than me. But The Blood Brothers make me feel sexy, like an emotion, not conceited, but. Argh. And dancey, as well. So, overall. The Blood Brothers has happy sounds, I suppose. Happy sexy dancey sounds.
20. Heck yes, The Big Daddies are cute. In fact, how can "Mr. Bubbles" not be the obvious role to beat the crap out of you if you try and get near a little demon child? BioShock is way scarier than the "scarefest" FEAR, and I'm glad I got this game over the holidays. I didn't look into as much as I could've, not knowing that it would be horrifying at times (I jump easily), but I'm glad. A scary game. A Break from FEAR and Resident Evil. :] Even scarier may be the splicers walking around singing "Jesus, Loves me" because, Christianity may be the base of many horror movies and games, lol. Plastic surgery itself has always been a scarier subject, and BioShock pretty much takes all these medical subject like plastic surgery and turned them into monsters... Right now, I'm not too far into it, considering most of my time revolves around Oblivion, but I just deployed the Vector serum into the forest. I'll start playing again soon, and try to beat it. I havn't had any struggles with it yet, or died yet (I've noticed that it's not one of those games that you die every two seconds, obviously). I get confused at parts, considering it doesn't explain everything about what the crap is going on, but the story is very well written, and works well with no cutscenes between the beginning and end. ...I suppose I'm going to get a bad ending.. My friend beat the game and told me there was two different endings to it. I harvest all the little sisters I encounter (and kill even more Big Daddies, considering theres almost a limitless ammount to how many will reappear in the levels, as long as your near where they spawn)..and I'm guessing that will end with... oh.. probably something worth dying for? Hehe, I made a funny. So... what's your favorite parts and EVE plasmids in the game?
21. I havn't listened to These Arms are Snakes in a while... I can't remember much about them except that I really liked the key sounds. So, obviously I'm not listening to them right now. :] But I am listening to Shikari and Hiretzukan, both of which are...uh... some genre. But anyway, Shikari sounds like abunch of other bands but... I LIKE THEM. So ha. Most of what I've been listening to is live stuff, and then some recorded stuff. Such favorite tunes would be Robot Wars. Hiretzukan (if that is how their name is spelled) is just awesome. That chick (I hope it's a chick, it sounds like one and its name is Michelle) can throw out some vocals... Like.. a banshee. :] And it goes back and forth from punk stuff to even more chaotic stuff... Both bands are kind of like pg. 99.. Also listening to Alesana, a pop-core band (post-hardcore whatever)... Alot of their stuff is like Bring Me The Horizon meets Chiodos meets mixed vocals and bad lyrics (ha. ha. ha.).. Most of it is like... THE NEW GLAM ROCK. They wear make-up and act all feminine (don't dress up as chicks though) and I really like it.
22. Haha, that's funny.. 21:13 is one of my favorite songs as well. :] That album has so many emotional elements.. II is pretty emotional too, and IV is..well, okay. Welcome Home was a good single, but I'm tired of everybody only knowing that song and A Favor House Atlantic (not saying you guys only know those songs, but every kid around here..pretty much says the same old crap).. But I will say, that A Favor House Atlantic makes you feel... pretty? It makes you want to act feminine (maybe that's just me, lol) and be SEXY. Sex-eeeee. Speaking of that, I must bring up the Blood Brothers. That band is pretty sexy-sounding... The singers sound all.. old-woman-ish (not really, but very feminine, yes) with alot of key sounds and quirky guitar riffs, and weird chorus'. :] but, I don't guess I know much of them besides of the music on Young Machetes.. But as far as Young Machetes goes, the whole thing is pretty much sex sounds. Yeahhh. Oh yeah. I LIKE JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. Had to get that out, that I like synth pop, or whatever it is, along with the Killers.. Killers has a more sad...and happy sound, while once again, Justin is sex-eee. You can find many great emotions in that synth stuff, usually Sad, Happy, and Sexy sounds. Yes... those are the three major emotions I feel, at least. Now, respond to what I just said. edit: just so you know, I was using sexy as an emotion.
23. YES! Aha. King of Leon's album this year is my favorite of theirs so far, and well... The Big Dirty is the raunchiest album I've heard in a while, I love it. :] Shallow Water Breakout is probably my favorite song on the album because it's so chaotic, and then We'rewolf next with Leatherneck following it. Great album... Probably right beside Maylene and the Sons of Disaster's album of 2007, II. I suggest you pick it up if you havn't already. It's like Everytime I Die with a bit more southern-ness. No World for Tommorrow- Coheed.. Eh... It's one of my favorites of this year... but... it's.. just not as good as I was hoping. 3 will remain as my favorite of theirs, I suppose. Manipulator- The Fall of Troy- YES. YESSS. A mixture of Coheed and The Number 12. I was so glad when I heard this band. They rule all other new post-hardcore whatever bands, because of all that weird-almost-progness. :] Plagues- The Devil Wears Prada.. Not as good as Beautiful Discord, but still a pretty good album. The synth is better, and the screams are better, and the guitar is heavier. But..it's just not better. But none-the-less, amazing album. Bone Palace Ballet-Chiodos... Thank you Chiodos for taking everything from the Number 12 and turning into a pop-core band. Good album. But not original. Cliche' good. Only you guys could turn something so cliche' good. Props, Chiodos.
24. Come on guys... you can do better than this. We're seeing the same old crap over and over again, and stuff about how much we hate the vocals of the bands. Bullet For My Valentine? BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE? You guys skipped a whole level of hate. TRIVIUM SUCK WORSE. WAY WORSE. How could you just skip over them? GODSMACK. LIMP BIZKIT. TRAILER TRASH BANDS LIKE THAT (no offense to tidy-trailer owners of america) Blessthefall- I don't care how much you say for-sho and how much pop vocals and screaming you have. I don't even care that all of your fans are hot thirteen year olds. I WILL DEGRADE YOU IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY, AND I WILL DEGRADE ALL OF YOUR FANS UNTIL I WIN. And that's what's straight-up crunk, *****. Atreyu- I liked you four years ago. Four years ago. Okay, good enough. But.. Lead Sails Paper Anchors? That's just a disgrace. Hawthorne Heights- do I need to explain myself? You suck. YOU SUCK. But I will say I'm sorry because of the struggle you've gone through as a band. But, you still suck. Pop-core today, is becoming trash.. Sure, I'm a proud fan of others in the trend like Underoath, Alesana (but God you guys suck when your fans talk about you, because all of them are SCENE KIDS) and Enter Shikari... But most of the others... SUCK. *****.
25. Aha, the metalcore scene is fun though. And most of the time, we don't just get blank faces, we get the guys that are looking at us like idiots.. We're not anything really peculiar, except for just acting crazy, and making fun of everyone in the show (we tend to yell at the crowd "YOU SUCK!" alot..and act like it's taking effect into their tiny little brains) .. I play guitar and I scream high-pitched crap, which tends to get their attention... We've even done guitar-duals, and the only ones going crazy were the other bands playng at our shows, which always help out other bands in need. :] I like to wear pajama bottoms and a white under shirt to shows, and it's really nice on the few songs I'm fronting as vocalist only, because then, I pull out all the HORROR MOVIE MOVES! wooh. rolling my eyes into the back of my head, sticking my abnormally large tongue out (Gene Simmons style..)...may be the reason why they look at us so funny. vocalists dudes rock. We always have our stage guy get our singer and me a box or something, to jump off of, lean on, stand on, sit on... Those boxes make the life of the shows. :] Anyway. The only word I can think of is idiotic... if you mixed feminine-dudes together and added pajamas and weird tongue-flicks, and headbands of course.. I have to ask, Kam. What kind of stuff do you guys parade around doing, because, no offense, but a metalband just doesn't seem as likely to do weird crap like a hardcore or metalcore band.. Obviously, I'm not in a metal band aha. But then again, what genre do you play and what kind of shows do you play? edit: just to give example, even though none of these involve pajamas-
