dagummit, the closest places it's showing at from where I live are Illinois and New York. basically only have to travel halfway across the country is all *smacks head into brick wall*. meh, I dunno if I can wait any longer. I dunno if I'd be insane enough to spend hundreds of dollars on seeing a movie either though, so I guess I'll have to. ....*grabs handy sheet of titanium*

I started looking out for spring when I first heard birds chirping in the morning. hadn't heard that in a long time, it was pretty nice. and yeah, there does seem to be a sort of smell in the air that goes along with spring. same with winter. oh, and our cherry blossoms just grew, so that was a pretty good indicator spring was coming. it was actually about 85 degrees today, if not higher 0_o'. probably the only thing I'm not looking forward to is the temperature. and the bugs. and the allergies....:wigout:

-Are you male or female? female -How long has your longest relationship lasted? almost 2 years -What was the worst ending to a relationship you have been in? not a really big deal, but an old boyfriend got really pissed off at me when I broke up with him. I have 2 now though, from me selling them off and people taking them w/out my consent *bleh* 3. 'Shaggy' is my favorite one. he's blue and says "Help Me!" and "Oh no!" 4. I collected them back in 5th grade.

heh, I was going to quote DeathKnight on the morbid thing, but Medra beat me to it. the way everybody's going on about it, you'd think they'd be disappointed if the world didn't in fact, blow up/melt/flood over/etc. sorry lol, but the world is still gonna be here 500 hundred years from now. I'm lookin' at it from a religious prospective, but even without that, if the world did change, what do you think adaptation is for?

Anime What makes an Anime Charachter a Good Charachter
amibasuki replied to tabmow's topic in Otaku Central
depth is most important, imo. if a character acts a certain way (like Asuka or Vash, or any other character), I want to know why (cuz I'm a busy-body :p). why do you think there are so few fans of small, supporting characters, and masses of fans of major lead characters (looks being put aside)? the more people know about a character or the more emotion a character shows, the more people can relate to and understand them; not a whole lotta people care too much about what happens to cardboard characters that get 3 minutes screen time and are just there to take up space. -
oooh, Tomoyo's voice is so CUTE in the subbed version! I just get this smile on my face whenever I hear her say 'You look so cute, Sakura-chan!' or 'kawaii desu, ne?', or however it goes, my Japanese really sucks. but yeah, Tomoyo's my favorite character cuz she's so darn cute. as for the dubbed/edited version, good glory! it holds nothing to the actual thing. though I was kind of amused at how they edited this one scene. it was the one where Syaoran got a box of chocolate for Yukito since he had a crush on him and everything. when they edited it, they made it look like the chocolates were supposed to be for Sakura, but he had given them to Yukito/Julian because he chickened out. I actually thought they did it pretty smoothly, because I didn't see anything funny about it (only because I saw the subbed version after seeing the dubbed one). that's about the only thing they did edit somewhat decently though, unfortunately. >.>'''''

I really like Cowboy Bebop's, Macross', and Trigun's soundtracks, or at least what I've heard from them. and I like about 15 songs collectively from the Fushigi Yuugi soundtracks. individual songs could go on for a while. some I really like at the top of my head are Kimi Sae Ireba [sp?] from Love Hina, Toki no Kioku from Please Save My Earth, and Heart of Sword from Kenshin. naming all of 'em would be kinda tough, but I don't want to make it look too much like a 'favorites' post, so I'll just leave it alone ^_^'.

really. it's the girl's choice, so I say just let her work it out. no matter what advice you give her as to what she should do, she's probably gonna end up doing what she wants to do anyway.

...yeah, I thought the first volume kinda stunk, too. after reading it, I really didn't want to read anymore of it; so I didn't. I wondered what all the hype was about. heh, maybe I could convince my seester to buy the next couple of volumes or something (low on $$$ 0_o'). actually, she might have the second one....I dunno, I'll have to look. >.>' okay, I'll quit babbling now.

well, I really think it's up to the two people. if the age difference doesn't make them feel awkward and they both like each other, they should go for it. the guy I'm with right now is 18, which in the grand scheme of things isn't that much older than me anyway, and the age thing is not a problem. some situations that I wouldn't think were right would be if, say, a 20-year old was seeing a 10-year old. it would make me think that the older person was just taking advantage of the kid's naivety (which would be the case, most likely). but excluding circumstances like that, if you don't even think about or notice the age difference between the two of you, then it's fine; in my opinion, anyway. one of the things I love most about my life is the people in it (for the most part, heh). I always feel really good when I'm hanging around my friends at school and church, and with other people I care about. the second thing I love is my religion. it's really helping me become the person I want to be like, and hopefully through time I'll achieve that. I have a pretty good idea of what I'd be like and what I'd be doing if I didn't have it in my life; all I'm saying is thank God I didn't grow up without it, because if I didn't, I know I wouldn't have been strong enough to accept it later on. heck, even with my faith, it's still hard for me to figure some things out. I'd probably just be wandering around wondering what on earth I'm supposed to do otherwise.

well, let's see what I can come up with. body-wise, I like it when guys are a bit taller than me; tall enough that my head doesn't go that far above their shoulders. I don't want 'em chicken-leg skinny, because quite frankly, I'm not, and I guess I'd have some weird self-esteem issue that my boyfriend would be skinnier than I am 0_o'. but being buffed up to the point that they look like one big bumpy balloon doesn't really do anything for me either. a happy medium would do, I should say, maybe leaning more for the leaner side. I like it if the guy smells good too, like if he wears a particular cologne that smells really good on him, and isn't that strong. from the neck-up -wise, I love large, deep eyes. I don't care about a specific color, as long as it's a deep shade. full, well-defined lips look good, too. I usually favor dark hair over light hair, and I like it if the guy doesn't have his hair oozing with gel. I don't mind a little, but yes, if you use up an entire container of gel within three days, that's going a bit overboard. if the guy's hair was corkscrew curly :tasty:, then I really like it grown out (not quite as big as an afro though, lol). as for teeth, eh, nothing specific, as long as they're a white color, and you don't have incisors showing up where your front teeth should go, it's okay by me ^_^'. I kinda like one pair of earrings, but anything other than that kinda puts me off. personality/tastes-wise, I think it's totally awesome if a guy is really artsy, or can really appreciate different types of music/books/theatre/etc., like if he didn't listen to only rock or only......rock, I guess, lol. it certainly wouldn't hurt if he was talented in one or more of those areas either. I'd prefer the guy being older than me, because frankly there aren't that many mature guys my age right now. I don't really have an age limit though, since I doubt that someone as old as, say, 20 would be interested in me 0_o'. he doesn't have to be straight-A smart, but he shouldn't be dumb to the point of failing 5 out of 7 classes. and I like hugs and snuggling, so he'd also have to be a snuggly-type person, not quite to the point of breathing down my neck all the time though, lol. it'd also be nice if we could be comfortable talking together, but we also felt comfortable together if we weren't. sincerity and at least a small degree of humbleness are also things I really like, and are probably what attract me to someone the most. heh well, it asked for specifics, so I gave 'em. though if I found a guy who fit all this in real life, he wouldn't be looking for someone like me, lol. but yeah, I guess this should do it.

yeah, I thought the Kodocha manga and anime were pretty different. I much prefer the manga so far, pretty much for the same reason. Sana was really annoying -.-' I've heard something about the Cinderella manga. what's it like? the style in the advertisement I saw for it was kinda funky, like it was taken out of a Teen magazine or something.
-
yes, I'm quite interested. ^_^ Kodomo no Omocha seems pretty good. can't really tell much from only one volume >.>', but it seems pretty neat so far. totally what I didn't expect it to be.
-
actually, I feel quite the opposite.

hmmm, sounds like you just like her homework to me. two-faced people get on my nerves. and I find it really aggravating how some people will use it to get back at people they're mad at. like how one 'friend' got mad at another friend of mine, and started spreading rumors about her one minute and comforting her the next so she wouldn't get caught. if she had to duke it out with her, she should've done it in person instead of being so underhanded and cheap about it. but yeah, I've already gotten into that story. Do songs ever remind you of different things?
amibasuki replied to Rhys Mayiessen's topic in Noosphere
anytime I hear a song that used to be popular way back in the early/mid 90's, I get flashbacks of my early elementary-school years. some songs that come to mind at the top of my head are Smashing Pumpkin's "Tonight, Tonight," Ben Folds Five's "Brick," Seal's "Don't Cry," and Oasis' "Champaigne Supernova" and "Wonderwall." any New Found Glory and Moby music reminds me of events from this year. I could name a couple of other things if I thought more about it, but this should do it. EDIT: oh, one more thing. this one's a bit more unique than my others, at least.:p whenever I hear the the Song 'Fly' by SugarRay, I think about Lego's. specifically the Alien Avenger model. why? I had listened to the song about 10 times on the radio (serious overplay) while putting it together on my birthday. kinda stuck since I couldn't get it out of my head. -
Originally posted by amiboshi Imadoki was good. I recently finished the series, but the ending was a bit disappointing. W-Juliet's good, too, though I'm getting a little sick of it now. A bit too repetitive for me. *shrugs* Marmalade boy is so cute. The ending was awesome. It was really surprising. I love scanlations. XD
what would we do without them? ^_^ how many volumes are there of Imadoki and W-Juliet? I've only read maybe 3 volumes of W-Juliet at the most, and I've only seen a few pictures of Imadoki. the bad part about waiting for the Marmalade Boy manga to come out is that even though I know about what's supposed to happen and whatnot, I've only read the translated script to it, never actually got to see any of the pictures *bangs head on brick wall*. so it's driving me BONKERS, especially after just reading volume 5.
-
man, I love Hana Kimi and Penguin Brothers ^_^. if only they'd get sent over to the U.S., I'd be on cloud nine (and really broke). speaking of which, they need to hurry up and get the rest of the Marmalade Boy volumes translated, I can't wait until April for volume 6 *tears hair out*. another series I really like is W-Juliet. it's really sweet, and anybody with even a slight interest in acting/theatre would probably be at least somewhat interested. the two main characters threw me for a loop when I first found out about them, but that just made everything more interesting ^_^. some other good ones are this one-shot called Alive, and Blade of the Immortal. Alive was pretty good, if not.....a bit graphic in some parts, especially near the end. but like I said, it's still good, if you're into sci-fi stuff. Blade of the Immortal's good too, not sure if it's well known or not. BotI and Alive are alike in that the drawings are more realistic, and don't look as 'anime-ish' as the regular stuff. I've wanted to find some stuff on Imadoki, but haven't had any luck yet. maybe I'll have more luck when I actually have time to do a bit of searching :p

I usually don't mind reality t.v. that much, even if I don't watch it all the time, but this is disgusting. marriage isn't something you play around with, period. it thoroughly disheartens me to think that people would actually want to be in a show like that, even though I'm not really that surprised.
Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! ...This girl and her family are illegal aliens from Mexico. This girl was smuggled into the US illegealy to get medical treatment. Sadly, even that didn't save her. 2 HEARTS that could've been used to save a United States Citizen were wasted on the girl. And after all that the poor girl died. First, the doctor HAD to give treatment to her, the hospital cannot deny anyone. So first, he screwed up on the first heart and an American Citizen who had been waiting for that heart for a while died because they used the heart on the girl. And that one did not work still. The second heart was used, and that one didn't work for her either, and Americans that were waiting before her died. So, Americans died and this one girl died after 2 HEARTS. I'm sorry that she died, but I can't beleive that after the 2 hearts that could've been used on Americans.....well, you get the point. It's sad that she died and all, but they completely forgot about the Americans waiting for those hearts. I have nothing against Mexicans, hell, I'm half Hispanic in the first place (my mom's from Brazil). The doctor is still a dumbass in the first place for failing BOTH times.....if it worked with the first heart in her, we could've saved an American and an alien. That would've been a good deal. Now we've lost more lives...
What's the difference? I sort of see where you're coming from saying that the Americans had more right to the hearts than she did, since she legally wasn't supposed to be in the U.S. anyway (at least that's how it's coming across to me), but maybe the Americans didn't get the hearts because she was in greater need of them than they were at the time, I don't know. I seriously doubt she asked to get sick enough to need a transplant, and that she wanted to go through the whole operation again just for kicks. as for her being there illegally; heck, if my child was sick like that, I'd do just about anything possible to make sure (s)he didn't die, especially if it's only a matter of traveling to another place (illegal or not) so she could be under the care of qualified doctors who (supposedly) knew what they were doing. with that being said, the doctors really should have been a lot more careful. I can understand the whole heart transplant being an honest mistake (if not a stupid one), but them pulling her off of life support was asking for it. even if she was braindead, they still had the right to keep her on. her family might not have planned on keeping her on it forever, either. heck, maybe her family would've liked to see her alive one more time before they pulled the plug. hehehe, at first I mistook the word 'desert' for 'dessert'. imagine my fun at trying to picture a banana split inside a clear blue-ish cube (I didn't read that part correctly, either). so I went back and reread it, and hit myself over the head for being a boobyhead. oy, I can't believe how I keep managing to top my ditziness..... ANYwho, my cube in the desert came up a little past my knees, and it was a clearish-blue color, kinda like contacts, and made of some hard plastic they use to make the windows in old Legos. it was sitting on the ground. my ladder was made of wood, and sticking straight up in the air a couple of inches from the cube; kinda like Kinetic's, I guess. my horse was spunky and a beautiful dark brown, almost black color, and its front legs were propped up on the cube. as for the results, kinda funky. how big would the cube be for a big ego, lol? and the horse thing kinda fits, I guess. pretty neato quiz thingy.
