Coal Chamber is like 10x better than DevilDriver.

I had to suffer with listening to two of their albums back to back on a three hour car ride. They play the most boring, uninspired metalcore I've ever heard in my life. I was about as disappointed in them as I was when I found out that Justin Graves left Neil Perry to play double-bass in a metalcore band (although A Life Once Lost is actually really good).

Oh, and don't talk about how good Coheed and Cambria is and mention Good Apollo, I Am A Really Long Title IV. The only song on that album that stands up to their material on Second Stage Turbine Blade is "Welcome Home." IV was a disappointment.
Why all the hate against Devil Driver?
Because they're one of the worst bands in existence. I saw them live, which was one of the worst shows I've ever seen in my life (I sat through them to see In Flames, who I hoped wouldn't play much off their latest two albums, which were absolutely atrocious, and luckily they played plenty of stuff from their back catalogue). But anyway, Devil Driver was awful, and the singer threw a temper tantrum when they had a little sound problem. When I say temper tantrum, I mean he stamped on the ground like a two year old and threw the mic. He then continued to yell some of the most immature **** I've ever heard come out of someone's mouth. It was awful. And then he got all the stupid Hot Topic-clad mallgoths to flip off the sound guy. Ugh.

Secondly, Coal Chamber just wanted to be Korn. Which is sad, because Korn is awful too.

Which brings us to this: anything mallcore can be added to the "Worst Music Ever" list.

I just like how DevilDriver is allowed to be the 'anti-hardcore' metalcore band. That, and they blow in terms of music. It's boring, repetitive, and annoying.

I'd also hardly call ole' buddy from Glassjaw a vocal genius. That whole style of music focuses on lack of technique. Which just sounds awful to me.

Very well put! I hate metalcore vocals for that reason exactly. Harsh vocals are NOT just screaming, like so many people think. It's an actual controlled vocal technique that takes practice to develop correctly. In almost any -core band, the vocalist just yells/screams, completely doing away with any form of control or technique. I can't stand it at all.

My, oh, my... where to begin?

First, I'd like to make a request:

STOP USING GENRES.

You're inevitably going to use them wrong and step on someone's toes, thus derailing the entire thread. AGAIN. Not to mention the name of this thread is worst ARTIST(s) today.

Artists, not genres.

Second, if I contradict myself in any way, screw you.

Now, for the most part, if you've heard of it, I don't like it. As simple as that.

If it's on the radio, I hate it. Unless it's Red Hot Chili Peppers, then it's tolerable. Unless it's new, then I hate it.

If they play it at Hollister (with the exception of LCD Soundsystem and Bloc Party), I hate it.

If it made the Top 40, I hate it.

If they have "Young," "L'il," "Dem," or "Da" in their name, I hate them.

On second thought, Red Hot Chili Peppers suck. I hate them.

Except for Green Day and Linkin Park, I second Mr. Maul's entire beautifully comprehensive list.

Even those two bands I mostly like for nostalgia... though I'd be lying if I said Meteora wasn't still a favorite of mine...

EDIT: As for your plea to end genre discussion... well, it's a rather enlightening talk and all in good fun - it's not like anyone's up for getting all that offfended on an internet forum. Honestly, it's a thousand times more interesting than just listing bands you don't like. Agfter all, this thread was practically created for trolling...

Green Day was a (mildly) decent band in the beginning, but they soon began to allow their egos to swell their heads and thus began their downward spiral of mediocre - nay - sub par musicality.

As for Linkin Park, sure I bought their first CD when I was in middle school, as did most kids in my area at that time, but I outgrew them in about 2 months. And by "outgrew them", I mean I realized that all their songs sound the same and lack substance, and there are soooo many bands out there that are phenomenally better than them.

And the genres thing... it was mainly to stop arbitrary arguments and nit-picking over such a subjective, well, subject. I could go on for hours about how this band/artist/album/song is in this genre, and not this one, but this is not the time or place for it.

I'm not saying we can't discuss genres, but can we please refrain from lumping groups into genres, because that leads to childish mudslinging.

Trolling is for t3h n00bz.

Due to their planned return, though "resurrection" might be a better word, I'm going to add the infamous Spice Girls to the list, on behalf of anyone who like me had a sister who was impressionable enough to like their music when they were "famous". I just hope to God that the kid Eddie Murphy had with one of them inherits his father's talents as opposed to his mother's.

For Green Day, I actually like some of their more recent stuff more. I don't think their egos really had anything to do with it because while Dookie was a great success, every subsequent album up until American Idiot suffered mild obscurity - namely because most of them were less catchy and some like Warning had a more experimented sound. I mean, I only knew who Green Day was because I grew up on Dookie and with the knowlege that they had taken care of me before, but until American Idiot, I'd never known anyone who'd heard of them. In fact, Billy Joe even said that they almost broke up the band before AI.

As for my opinions of their albums, it varies. I like some of Dookie, a little bit of Nimrod, haven't heard most of the others. Warning is a great CD in my opinion. It has a very down-to-earth style and a humbling effect to it. American idiot is one of the albums that got me into music a couple years ago. It's epic and yet catchy at the same time - something hard to pull off but the lyrical content is what enticed me the most. Overall, I'm not nearly as keen on the CD since I listen to a whole different genre these days, but I still appreciate it.

As for Linkin Park... well, while all their songs sound amazingly similar, there really aren't too many bands that have the same sound (well... there are now of course XD) or if there are, they don't have the same skill. I mean, both Chester and Mike have wonderful singing capabilities IMO. Mike is a good MC and Chester sings with intense emotion. If you ignore all the ******** around the band and just listen to the music, it's not the best out there, but it's still not like it's terrible.

I dunno, maybe I'm just biased, clinging onto the shreds of my childhood :p all I have to say is - I was listening to them before it was cool! XD

you know who really gets on my nerves? [besides Good Charlotte / Simple Plan/ post-Warning Green Day / A7X / etc]

Para One.

I mean I know I listen to electronica [and it's supposed to be repetitive] but this guy take reptition to like.. the next generation, same beats for almost six minutes, it feels like it doesnt move!

when I heard his remix of The Prayer I was pretty mad, when I listened to his orginal stuff, I just cringed, it's like his speciality is reptition.

he's only got one good remix under his name: The Prime Time Of Your Life by Daft Punk

it's good cos it feels like it progressed.
only by a slight margin.

I hate 'Party Like A Rockstar.' Ignorant, stupid song.

And now every trendy hip-POP culture loser with his hat cocked to the side knows how to lazily employ the Goat. And that's just not something that should be used out of context...like when fans of Hinder do it...but they do it with their palm facing in...IT'S NOT DAMN SUPPOSED TO BE PALM IN!! IT'S PALM OUT!!

Watch Dio, for Christ's sake.

Worst bands ever?

Hinder=sonic ****.
Crossfade=" ".
Limp Bizkit=Never, EVER do that to Pantera.
Kiss=Sissy bands shouldn't wear corpse paint.
the Beach Boys=California will never recover.
Neil Diamond=Sweet Caroline probably shot herself. DUN DUN DUUUN.
LFO= Now, these boys were cute.
Hoobastank= YEEEEES!!! Who-be-stankin'?.
Puddle of Mudd=Never, EVER do that to Kurt Cobain.
Slipknot=not metal.
Later Anthrax= I hate you.
Later Metallica= Bastards.
All Megadeth= Stop trying to be Metallica.
Whitesnake(and every hair band that starts with 'W')= Thank you. No, really. Thanks. Because of you, it's totally obiekabie for every metalcore band ever to cover Bon Jovi or Warrant and show just how much like hair metal metalcore is becoming.
Which brings me to:

BON JOVI. The singular worst band...ever. You gave us a bad name, Bon Jovi. And you're to blame.

Hails(with palm out),

-Justin
