Share Your Birthday?

Recommended Posts

Forgive me if a thread like this already exists. I don't stop by the Lounge often, you see, so I wouldn't know. ^__^;;

Well, it's my birthday today (turning 17, woot~), but like any other day, I've been surfing the interwebs and checking up on my LJ friends list and what have you, and I somehow managed to find out that I share my birthday with Arashi's Matsumoto Jun (or Jun Matsumoto, if you say it that way). And that got me to thinking (something I don't do very often, ha ha): who else do I share my birthday with?

After a brief skimming of Wikipedia (and racking my brains briefly), I know that I also share my birthday with: Cameron Diaz (actress from lots of stuffs), Ryan Ross (guitarist of Panic! At The Disco), Shaun Alexander (football player for the Seahawks), Michael Chiklis (the actor from "The Shield"), two friends and another friend's mom (uh... two friends and another friend's mom?), and Andy Roddick (tennis player). Pretty small list, I know, but I'm too lazy to search for more names. XD

So, what about you? Do you share your birthday with your friends (possibly a fellow OBer?), your parents or someone famous? Do tell! : D

It's rather weird, for the longest time i've only known of one person (whom i've met) who shared my same birthday (day only of course, not year) and that is my stepfather. One of my job's new assistant managers also shares the same birthday as me though. She told me she looked at my sheet and saw my birthday was July 25th and she was like "Wow! Mine too!". Of course she got off on our birthday, while I had to work. Heh.

As far as famous people, keeping it down to the better known ones....according to wikipedia:

Matt LeBlanc (Joey from Friends), Billy Wagner (star closing pitcher for the New York Mets...one of the best in the league at one point mind you), Kenzo Suzuki (japanese professional wrestler...not many people will know who he is), and Tera Patrick (everyone's favorite brunette porn star) all share the same birthday as me.

A crap load of politicians of the past also happen to share the same day.

I share my birthday with Cloricus, I think (though he's no longer on the calendar on that day). :] Apart from them, I share my birthday with Thom Yorke, the singer from Radiohead. And in my list are a whole load of footballers, there's some New Zealandish actress who plays in Xena and Hercules, a Eurovision Song Contest 1999 winner from Sweden, Yo-Yo Ma - the cellist, Kyosuke Himuro (Boøwy) of whom a song is used as the theme of Advent Children, Tico Torres the drummer of Bon Jovi (ew.), the future voice actor of Harry in the upcoming Spiderman TV-show and... PUTIN. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Ha.

Oh, and the DDR was also born on the seventh of Octobre. I've the same first name as Yeltsin and am born on the same day as Putin and the DDR. Ooooo. Next thing you know, I'll be planting flags miles deep in the ocean to claim land.

My birthday is January 3 which I share with Panda here on OB. There's actually a little line-up of January birthdays for some of the well-known OB members, too. We have:

January 2: Raiyuu
January 3: Panda, Desbreko
January 4: Ezekiel
January 5: Bombu

Lots of birthday PMs to be sent out at the start of the year!

Off of OB, I also share my birthday with Cicero (a Roman statesman you might remember from history class), J.R.R. Tolkien (author of The Lord of the Rings), and John Paul Jones (a member of the band Led Zeppelin). And, of course, a bunch of other people listed on Wikipedia whose names I don't recognize.

He's a speedy one. While working on the list for January 3rd, Des already started one! Now I've got to do some editing to my list!

We also share our birthday with Formula One racer Michael Schumacher, actor Mel Gibson and actress Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years). In a non-traditional sense it was also the date which they started to build the Brooklyn Bridge and Alaska became a State.

I have yet to meet anyone who shares the same birthday as I do. I have also yet to find any modern famous people who share the same birthday as I do.

But I have the same birthday as a Japanese emperor. That has to count for something, right?

Over the years I've met people who share the same birthday that I do, though it's been a while and I don't know anyone at the moment. But as for other people who are actually famous there are a few that I know of, who's birthday is also on September the 5th.

Bob Newhart: American actor and comedian.
George Lazenby: Australian who played James Bond only once in the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Michael Keaton: American actor played Batman.

Of course there are quite a few more, but those are the ones I'm familiar with. :catgirl:

First off, happy birthday Kitty.

Apparently I share my birthday, which is February 23rd with some interesting people, including the current physical incarnation of Satan, yes, Michael Dell, the founder of Dell. Note how Dell is just one letter away from Hell, coincidence ? I think not.

All joking aside, I apparently also share the same birthday as Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan, actresses Dakota Fanning, Kelly MacDonald and Kirsten Davis, Aerosmith's Brad Whitford and legendary hotelier Cesar Ritz.

Well there are other people here who share the same birthday that I do, but other than Crystia I don't know any of them. Anyway, my birthday is on October 31 and apparently I do share it with some people I've heard of.

Dan Rather: I never really watched CBS Evening News when he was doing it though.

Michael Landon: I vaguely remember seeing him in re-runs of Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie.

John Candy: I remember him from a lot of movies like Space Balls, Uncle Buck and National Lampoon's Vacation.

Still the one I remember the most is Crystia since that's how I ended up noticing her in High School. She was new since her family had moved to Utah that summer and she came to school that day all decked out in a very nice witch outfit. And learning that it was her birthday as well resulted in my talking to her. Though technically she's older than me. :p At least by a couple of hours, since it also seems that we were born the same year too. lol

Yes, birthday PMs will be expected. As Des pointed out, my birthday is on January 4th.

I don't share it with many people I myself recognise, so here's a choice few:

-Emperor Zhezong of Song Dynasty in China
-Sir Isaac Newton, English mathematician and natural philosopher
-Jakob Grimm, German philologist and folklorist
-Louis Braille, French inventor of braille
-1893 - Yone Minagawa, Japanese, became worlds Oldest living person January 29, 2007.

And there are many more, a lot of artists and composers, it seems.

Well my birthday is on January 22, (I'll be turning 17 next year) it doesn't seem to be too popular of a date around here seeing as there are only six people with that birthday. Something really ironic though, its more popular of a deathday than it is a birthday. Here are a couple of 'em

Ivan III Vasilevich (Ivan the Great) Grand Prince of Moscow
Romi Paku - A Korean Seiyuu
Afeni Shakur - Tupac's Mother

As well as many more~

My birthday is July 20. I don't know of any famous people born on that day, but I met someone working in Arlington National Cemetery that shares it with me.

According to Wikipedia...

...no one I've heard of or that I'm particularly interested in was born on my birthday. :[

Ah, I have finally checked the OB calender. I share my birthday, September 15 with Circéus & The Harlequin. There are others, but I doubt most of them even come here anymore, and these two are more well known. Go us!

I'm having quite a bit of fun with this. I found some interesting happening in history that occured on my birthday, and births.

1915: Tanks used for the first time, by the British in the Somme
1935: The Third Reich, in Germany, adopts the 'Swastika' as the national flag
1940: Battle of Britain ends with RAF victory
1974: The civil war in Beirut, Lebanon, breaks out between Christians and Muslims

September 15th birthdays

Silly Utahans and their tendency to not dress up on Halloween. So few of you do that it's hard to tell it's even a holiday. That or I just live in the wrong neighborhood. lol

Anyway, Rach already mentioned the few celebrities who are also born on this day, I don't really know any others. Though if we're talking about being born in the month of October and OB, I know of two other members who are born in this month. Beth on the 1st and Boo on the 7th. I actually looked up my birthday (January 17th) on Wikipedia a while ago. I was surprised at how many well-known people have that birthday.

Benjamin Franklin: American statesman; known for his kite experiment, as well as many other things
Al Capone: American gangster in the '20s and '30s; Scarface was based off of him
James Earl Jones: American actor; known for his distinctive voice
Maury Povich: American talk show host; gives out paternity tests
Muhammad Ali: American boxer
Jim Carrey: Canadian actor and comedian

There are a lot of others, including one who has the same last name as me.

Quite a few OB members too:

So few of you do that it's hard to tell it's even a holiday. That or I just live in the wrong neighborhood. lol
Oh it depends. lol Take UVSC, they totally dress up and even the blood drive has those running it dressed up like vampires, where if you go across the city to BYU, you're lucky if you see even one person dressed up. I had costume parties for my birthday as a kid and my mom totally got decked out on Halloween. She'd play scary music as well. Everyone loved coming to our house.

Anyway, my birthday is October 1. And though there are members here who have the same B-Day, I don't know any of them. As for celebrities or well known people... Other than a few I don't know who they are either. I do know who these guys are:

Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize
Julie Andrews, British actress and singer

There are some pretty cool events that happened on the first of October though, like how in 1890 - The Yosemite National Park is established by the U.S. Congress. That's pretty cool in my opinion.
