I want to learn a language, but I have no idea what language I want to learn! D; Any suggestions, anybody? I want to learn German, since it's in my blood, but so is French, and I want to learn that, too! :| But I don't have the memory nor the money to learn two languages. I used to take Spanish classes, but I'm never going to a Spanish speaking country, so meh. Maybe Polish, but it's so difficult, and hard to pronounce, too. But my in-law's family is Polish and it's their main language.. but I doubt I will be going to a Polish speaking country...

So French or German? ... :I I'm leaning towards German since I've wanted to learn it ever since I was... ten years-old. ...eh *shrugs*

Or maybe Scots (I think that's it?) since I'm Scottish as well! :V

If you have the option, then German.

At the end of the week, I will be out of the job. My boss only needed me there while his son was getting his college schedule changed to evening classes instead of day ones. I knew this, but I didn't expect the schedule to be changed that quick. Oh well, it all works out for the best anyway.

I was conversationally fluent in French up to a few years ago so I'm required to push for the cheese-eating surrender monkeys, French is a fairly widely spoken language (probably much more so than German) so you may find it slightly more useful. I imagine you nattering away in French near your Polish in-laws might be more au-fait than German too. ^_^;

As for Scottish, well as far as I know there's very little in difference between Scots Gaelic and Irish (apparently if you speak one you can fairly proficiently communicate with someone who speaks the other) and I think Irish language courses/books would be easier to get a hold of. Plus you know Irish > Scottish obviously.

Rosetta Stone is bloody expensive though, I priced it to help with Japanese for college and it game to over â?¬300 if I remember right, tbh I considered not altogether legal methods before forgetting about it altogether.[/size][/font]

Eh, 'scuse me but there are over 90 million German native speakers [size=1]yay so many like me![/size] (apparently only 'standard' too, so they didn't count Switzerland and some other places) in comparison to about 70 million French natives so I must disagree on that.
Though I must say, French is a hell of a lot easier than German so it might still be the better choice if one's not willing to study uber hard for it.
